THE BEGINNING
The club was established in 1992 on the initiative of a group of enthusiasts who either hunted in Poland and wanted to continue their passion in Canadian forests, or wanted to start their hunting adventure here. Over the years, a large number of people have passed through the Club, among whom over time the group constituting the driving force of the Club has emerged. After developing the Statute and registration (which took place in May 1992), the Club began to officially exist (probably it is the first Polish hunting club in the world officially registered outside Poland). The first President of the Club was Col. Ryszard Mazur (R.I.P)
HISTORY
The Club's activities have been noticed and appreciated by the authorities of the Polish Hunting Association (Poland) and in 1998, the Club and six of its members were awarded the "St. Hubert" medal. This medal is awarded, among others, for: "special training achievements, popularization of knowledge, tradition and hunting culture".
OUR VALUES
The vast majority of Poles are Catholics, so it's no wonder that most of us are Catholics. Therefore, our hunting traditions are inscribed in the canons of ethical hunting, which are deeply inscribed in the Christian tradition, which is expressed in the cult of Saint Hubert, the patron of hunters.
But there are colleagues with us who have a different worldview and beliefs, because our values are based on broadly understood tolerance, supported by camaraderie and friendship
HUNTING SKILS
Our primary goal is the long-term camaraderie between us, from which the practice of proper and ethical hunting clearly follows. We pay particular attention to safety while hunting, the ability to safely use firearms and shooting accuracy. We support these goals through:
- compliance with hunting laws, which we analyze and learn at frequent club meetings,
- improving shooting skills by organizing shooting competitions, which makes our hunters more aware of firearms and accessories they can use while hunting in Canada, which ultimately pays off in practicing safe and proper hunting.
ETHICAL HUNTING
The promotion of proper hunting is the domain of our Polish Hunting Club in Canada. We do this through the continuous education of hunters associated in our Club, teach our colleagues how to safely use hunting firearms and educate them about the qualities and suitability of hunting weapons for specific hunting applications. We share the knowledge about hunting certain species of wild animals and engage our fellow hunters in group and individual hunting in line with Polish and European traditions.
EDUCATION
As a self-respecting Hunting Club, we believe that our ranks can only include hunters involved in the values of nature closely related to the hunting we practice. Hence our interest and willingness to learn about aspects of the nature of the existence of wild animals in their natural environment. Our interest extends to understanding the life of these wild animals in terms of biological dependencies on their place of existence. Thus, the subject of our education includes biocenosis in both Canada and Poland.
OOUR CULTURE
Our hunting is based on practical observations and research of wild animals living in Canadian forests that we gradually turn into long-term knowledge and collection of information about Canadian wildlife.
Thankfully we have among us colleagues who have long term professional experience in the fields of forestry management and ecology that they have achieved working in both Poland and Canada, which is hugely beneficial for other members of the club.
